No Aol Vr version yet?

Loved the 12. Power Tools with my 9.0 SE. But it won't work with the new one. Didn't even want an AOL upgrade. It was a computer redo. And didn't realize it was different-an no copy of the older AOL.

Keep PowerTools Going!

I was sorry to find out that BPS had gone out of business, but glad to find an archived copy of PowerTools Pro for AOL. I had to do an unexpected reformat of a hard drive and wanted to continue using PowerTools. I hope someone continues to keep the program going! I like the ability to keep logs of chats and the other features PowerTools provides.

I miss it

I have/had Power Tools Pro since 1994 and was cleaning my puter out of STUFF last month. Inadvertently I deleted my Power Tools and now I can't find a site to redownload it.
Can I use your site or do I have to pay again?

Power Tools keeping up to date with AOL

I was instructed to install AOL 9.0 VR, AOL's latest version of 9.0 and found it to be incompatible with Power Tools Pro 12.0.38. It wouldn't even load giving me an error message. I had to then Uninstall AOL 9.0 VR and installed AOL 9.0 Limited Edition instead, and older version of AOL, and use it instead.

POWER TOOLS.....WHATS UP?

Seems lately that Power Tools has gone bonkers on my system, I just reformatted and reloaded and it freezes up. Mind you I have 2 computers running Windows 2000 and one with XP. The one reformated was Windows 2000. I guess I have to reformat and start from scratch again. I just also purchased a unit with Windows Vista Home Premium and Power Tools won't even load. It used to be a great item to use, but even when it was running, it always wasn't 100% functional, especially the address book. It never took my AOL address book as it was supposed to.

I went online today and you couldn't even find BPS. You can't even Keyword: BPS anymore because it brings you to AOL's search box. It was great at one time....I really hope they can get it back together and become the functional monster it once was.

How I use it

This is an excellent tool for use in chat room. In my own case I am a poet and use Power Tools to "read" poems in various poetry chat rooms. unfortunately, I couldn't get a successful download -- please advise.

Bring it back and update it

My biggest fear is that PowerTools will not keep up with current AOL versions. I don't want Vista (which is a mess), but when they stop supporting the regular version of 9, they will create another version and I want to be able to use PTs then. Having been a host on AOL for years, I would miss the ability to create and use macros. Yes, a lot of us still host chat rooms for the members. There truly isn't the market there was, but there IS a market. Also, members want to know how we do the things we do with macros and auto-greets.. so there is a larger market for that and now there are no strictures from AOL that keep you from selling those features :-) Good luck!

Power tools.

I was using power tools 12 til this morning when I had to do a system recovery and now it wont let me load the programfrom my computer(alert says I'm missing a file) and I try and download power tools again and I get nothing. Is power tools still avail to buy and download?

Is there a powertools/ or like product for aol vr? I need it desperately. I wish I knew programming, I'd make a fortune! I'd pay double the cost.

Compatability

i would like to download and use aol 9.0 VR, or beta 9.1, however, BPS Power Tools 12 is not compatable with either of the afore mentioned version.I would like to if and when BPS will be compatable with them (9.0VR/9.1).

long time user

I worked for AOL as a chat host and an a poet...without powertools, I don't think I couold have ever hosted much less joined in poetry readings an excellent product and I was sick to see that BPS went out of business, I went to get an upgrade and found it was gone...I would strongly suggest to anyone who has many things to save to reuse later to install PT...it was a godsend for me

Power Tools for AOL

I've been using Power Tools for AOL since 1998 and would have a difficult time giving up it's use. When I discovered that BPS went out of business, I was shocked and dismayed. Thank goodness, the software has been archived. Of course, I quickly discovered that the last update (12.0.38) won't be compatible with future AOL versions. This means if I want to continue using Power Tools Pro, I'll have to maintain the AOL 9.0 Security Edition forever.

One of the reasons I use Power Tools are the ability to keep track of AOL members and when they've been online; I also appreciate features like the history and logging of online chat dialogues and the unique toolbars. All in all, over the years I've come to rely on this program and can't imagine not being able to use it. Some of the features I've been taking for granted and at this point, can't even identify them.

I bought powertools from bps years ago. But when I put in reg number it asks me everytime for it. And says I am on 20 day trial period. I own my set how can I get it to take my reg #?

Power Tools for AOL

I do not understand why such a good program has recently been discontinued? I have been using Power Tools for AOL for many years and am so used to it that I find it very difficult to use AOL without the Power Tools program. It is my understanding that BPS (the software company that publised Power Tools) had since gone out of business and the latest version of Power Tools will not work with the newer versions of AOL. I would certainly appreciate it if anyone can tell me if Power Tools for AOL is still available and if so where it can be found/purchased?

I LOVE it......but

I have been a PTs user for some time. I used to HOST on AOL and found them invaluable! I really want to keep using them. Hate that they will not be upgraded and worked on anymore.
I do, however have an issue. I can not find my previous registration number.
Between the time You guys closed and I knew about it, I had a crash and had not hosted or run meetings as I had before. Unfortunately the hard drive that the registration number was on...is no more.
I have used PTs to host a chat many times. I love the ability to keep a queus and automatically IM folks entering the room with a nice welcome message.
The enhanced fonts and graphics are also wonderfull.
The ease with which macros can be created to "gear" a chat to special criteria are just super. I am very pleased to have the program again but do need for someone to see if they can either find or create a registration code for me so that it does not "die" at the end of the trial period.
Would I buy PTs or a similar application again? You bet. That is exactly what I had planned to do online yesterday.
I hope the following information will be helpful in finding my previous code or in getting you to send me a new one:
I originally purchased the program using the AOL screen name oneprior@AOL.com..that was about 6yrs ago and it wat version 8.something...as HOSTAAStepnUP@AOL.co. I used 9.? and 10.? to facillitate AA meetings online. When AOL ended the HOST program I bought PT12Pro and continued to do meetings...the SN was and is ONEsbrLdy@AOL.com and is probably the last record you would have of a purchase. That woulld be the code I need I suppose, but alas that system's hard drive crashed and I can no longer access the code.
There is no better software available for hosting chats and presenting subject matter for discussion in a protocol oriented format.
Please let me know if my code can be located,or, if a new one can be generated, so that I might have full access to all of the programs features.

Please somebody>> do something.

Will somebody please buy the rights to this and get it up and going again. There is a huge market for it. I love it and aol keeps trying to update my software and I have to end task to stop it as I won't have pt's anymore if it does.
